August 4th, August 4th... is you READY?

So I haven't really always been a Trey Songz fan. I always thought he was just cute and didn't really pay much attention to him, but lately he's been growing on me. And (once again) he's from VA so you know I gotta be supportive.  AND I just have to add: he's been looking even BETTER since he cut his hair last year. Agree? You should.

His newest album Ready is scheduled to be released on August 4th and I'm actually pretty excited.

From an interview with Essence.com, talking about cutting his hair & his new album

  • ESSENCE.COM: Is this change just another step in your evolution process?
  • Songz: With the new album, I am growing more into adulthood. I’m wearing my pants up a little more, my clothes are fitting [now], and I think it’s time to step into manhood, so that’s why [I decided to cut my hair.]

♥  ♥  ♥

First two released songs from the new CD:
  • I Need a Girl

  • Brand New (this video kinda womps, in my opinion but whatever)

Recent remixes of songs:
  • Rockin That Thang (from Rockin That Thang by The-Dream) - obviously not as good as the first one, but I still like it
  • Bad News (added to Bad News by Kanye West)
  • Girlfriend Can Come Too (from Boyfriend #2 by Pleasure P) - better than the original? maybe?

  • First Date Sex (from Birthday Sex by Jeremih) - love it, a whole lot

Three singles from his most recent CD, Trey Day:
  • Missing You

  • Last Time

  • Can't Help But Wait (nominated for a Grammy) ♥

Other songs to look up:
  • Amen
  • Be Where You Are
  • Show Me Love
  • No Make Up
  • Cuddy Buddy (Mike Jones, Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, Twista) - I didn't even like this song at first but it's grown on me
  • Every song of Drake's that he's on... TRUTH.

Call Trey up & leave a message: 804-335-0051 ... and look out for the new CD in August. I really hope he lives up to all the hype.

90s song: The Rain

It's been raining here for hours. I would say all day but I don't really know because I woke up hella late.... like 2pm kinda late. NO GOOD.

But anyway, the rain reminded me of one of my favorite songs from the 90s, "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)" by Missy Elliott. It's also been on my list of favorite videos for a really long time. I mean, you really can't beat Missy in a huge trash bag. Who else can do that & pull it off? Not many people! Plus she & Timbaland are from VA, so you know they're always fly. AND it was directed by Hype Williams. It can't get any better.

The song she sampled:

New Song of the Day: What's A Guy Gotta Do by Usher

Just found & downloaded this song two days ago. It's a new one from Usher called "What's A Guy Gotta Do." It was produced by The Neptunes so you know that means it's gotta be pretty good. I give it my stamp of approval. Your thoughts?

Inspiration

I've always tried to get my thoughts and interests out in the world. I hope to use this blog to continue doing this. There will be a variety of focuses, including: music, events of the world, fashion, and great people & great accomplishments.

The name in the url (forever-begins) comes from "Forever Begins" by Common [from his 2007 cd Finding Forever].

The name for the site (we fight | we love) comes from "We Fight / We Love" by Q-Tip ft. Raphael Saadiq [from Q-Tip's 2008 cd The Renaissance]... *check out the remix with Kanye!*

I'm not sure where exactly I'll be taking this or rather where it'll be taking me... but we'll find out together. Hope you enjoy.
