Comments: With the advent of GOOD Fridays came a restored excitement/love for Mr. West. But let me just point out that my love never disappeared. Not even during his 808's & Heartbreak days (though I'll admit, I did have to smdh a little bit...). Anyway, when Kanye comes back... he REALLY comes back. A 30+ minute film featuring new dope music? Weekly releases? Great promotional techniques! ... oh, yeah, and good art too :) Anyway, I support this 102%, with a 2% margin of error. Get on the bandwagon, just embrace it.

With only six years in the game, Trey Songz has made quite a name for himself. Best known for his provocative lyrics, seductive videos, and sexy performances, he seems to have the magic to make the ladies melt and the fellas take notes (think: “I Invented Sex” video). Just over a year after releasing his Grammy-nominated album Ready, the self-proclaimed “Prince of Virginia” is back with a new album to test just how deep our love for him goes. I’ll admit it: Trey stepped up his vocal skills on Passion, Pain, & Pleasure, but will that be enough to counter claims that he’s an updated version of an oversexed teenage boy?

INTERVIEW & PERFORMANCE: Trey Songz on The Monique Show (1/12/10)

Everybody knows I'm in love with (ahem, my boyfriend...) Trey Songz. For real though, I talk about him all the time. It's at the point where I annoy people & cause them to ignore me until I stop. I usually don't have these sort of celebrity crushes. Normally, I think they're pretty stupid. But I'm very infatuated with Mr. Neverson (what the rest of y'all need to be calling him). I wasn't feeling the braids back in the I Gotta Make It days, but I did recognize his talent & good looks. I'll admit though, that I didn't really get into him until last year. Now that he cut off the braids, got his grown-man on, and making fly remixes... I'm borderline head over heels.


Why? Well:
1) he's from VA ("...the prince, he rep 2 up 2 down" - I have a natural love for musicians from my state)
2) he's in his 20's (5 years & a few months older than me... there's just something about older men!)
3) he's very talented/charming/attractive/etc.

First and foremost... I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!! After a long trip (8.5 hour overnight train ride, during which some dude had the nerve to stay on the phone cursing some chick out and telling her he misses her at the same time at 1am, 4:30am, and 6:30am...) I'm currently at home, bumming around / relaxing / recharging so that I can kick it into high gear once I get back to school. Gotta beast on some finals within the next few weeks... But for now, I'm enjoying life at home. Good food, better cable, and sleeeeeep! I lowkey can't wait for winter break, cuz this semester has been a lot. They tell you sophomore year is rough.. and they're really not kidding around. Winter break it'll be me, my bed, my DMV homies, music, and THIS :)

In OTHER news...

Tonight is the season two premiere of the Real Housewives of Atlanta on Bravo and I am so excited. They're currently playing a marathon of the first season (and the reunion special is coming up in a few hours), leading up to the premiere TONIGHT AT 10PM! This show is so entertaining... some of the women are just EXTRA!

I'm mad they got rid of DeShawn cuz she was too nice & didn't bring enough drama.. If I was anyone on a show like this, I would be her. Cuz I'd actually be DOING stuff (she's got a foundation for young girls to promote self-esteem) and not being dramatic... Whatever. New girl coming tonight, Kandi Burruss, former member of Xscape (you know, the group with Tiny? haha). I wonder how this'll go. And I just gotta say, I love NeNe, even though she kinda has a big mouth and doesn't always "act right." Get it girl, do you boo!! When I'm rich like this though, I'm not gonna be so dang extravagant. I think I'm still gonna be my cheap old self (just with a little more money to spend) .. YAY!

Post about this crazy Tyra episode I saw last night coming soon... Smh, it was heartbreaking. I truly worry for kids these days.

New TV Show "More to Love" + Albums I'm Looking Forward To

I was watching tv the other day (of course) & saw for the first time a commercial about a new Fox show, very similar to The Bachelor. According to Fox, the average real woman is a size 14-16 [truth], yet the average "reality" show woman is a size 2. "How is that reality?!" the commercial asks. Next month, they're gonna try to correct that by airing their own version of The Bachelor with REAL-sized women looking for love.

So I haven't really always been a Trey Songz fan. I always thought he was just cute and didn't really pay much attention to him, but lately he's been growing on me. And (once again) he's from VA so you know I gotta be supportive.  AND I just have to add: he's been looking even BETTER since he cut his hair last year. Agree? You should.

His newest album Ready is scheduled to be released on August 4th and I'm actually pretty excited.

90s song: The Rain

It's been raining here for hours. I would say all day but I don't really know because I woke up hella late.... like 2pm kinda late. NO GOOD.

But anyway, the rain reminded me of one of my favorite songs from the 90s, "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)" by Missy Elliott. It's also been on my list of favorite videos for a really long time. I mean, you really can't beat Missy in a huge trash bag. Who else can do that & pull it off? Not many people! Plus she & Timbaland are from VA, so you know they're always fly. AND it was directed by Hype Williams. It can't get any better.
